New York citizens are struggling with severe air pollution for the first time. Smoke is choking the city. Authorities have alerted the people and we can see the photos of New York largely deserted, this was worst after the pandemic.

Even Delhi faces poor air quality with noxious smoke gases and industrial chemicals. But this is the first New York is choking with poor air quality. On Wednesday night (NY Local time) the air quality reached an AQI of 342, which is considered as hazardous for all the residents.

Federal Aviation Administration has halted the flights to New York due to air clearance. After the wildfire smoke from Canada continued over the sea, New York's air pollution ranked the worst when compared to any city in the world.

New York Governor Kathu Hochul considered the situation an emergency crisis. Officials ask the residents to stay indoors. Children and elders who are suffering from respiratory problems are warned mainly. The air and the matter, called PM 2.5 when enters the lungs can cause health issues like asthma and bronchitis. New York's air quality is now 15 times more dangerous than the World health organization's annual air quality guideline.

Many official programs around the city have been canceled or postponed. It has made it impossible for artists to perform. Poor air quality still continues in New York.
