Megastar Chiranjeevi has been an undisputed king of Telugu cinema for decades. A bunch of actors came out from his family and are performing well in Telugu cinema. After a strong comeback with Khaidi No 150, Chiranjeevi is busy with a series of films. His last movie Acharya that also had his son Ram Charan in a crucial role bombed badly at the box-office. Chiranjeevi took a break and moved on to his next film. The top actor attended the pre-release event of a small film First Day First Show. During his speech, he took a dig at himself and his recent film Acharya that bombed at the box-office.
"After the coronavirus pandemic, there were debates going on that the audience will not watch films in theatres and they are addicted to OTT streaming platforms. This is not true. If a film has the right content, the audience will watch the films in theatres. Bimbisara, Sita Ramam and Karthikeya 2 are the best examples. If the content is not good, the audience will not watch them in theatres. The films will struggle from its second day. Even the films of stars are not an exception. My film too suffered recently" told Chiranjeevi. The actor's bold comments on his film has earned a lot of respect for Chiranjeevi. One should have guts to admit such facts.
