Story
Bichagadu 2 is a Tamil – Telugu action thriller. The film is a standalone sequel to Bichagadu (2016). Pichaikkaran 2 or Bichagadu 2 is written, directed, edited and music by Vijay Antony, which is a complete one-man show. Let's take a look at the review
Story: Vijay Gurumurthy (Vijay Antony) and Satya (Vijay Antony) are two look-alikes, where Vijay is a billionaire and Satya returns from jail. There will be a brain transplant for Vijay with Satya memory. Satya starts looking for her sister Rani with a suggestion of Sadhu through a mission ‘Anti Bikili’. The struggle of organizing the Anti-Bikili concept and whether will Satya meet his sister is the complete story of the film.
Analysis
With the brain transplantation, fight and item song, the first half of the film is a typical potboiler and the film take-offs after the interval. Flashback is too lengthy, even though brother and sister emotion is the key slot of the film, lengthy scenes test the audience's patience. Yogi Babu gives some sort of relief with his humour. By the end of the first half, everyone in the theatre will be in confusion about where the film is leading. Vijay by handling all the key jobs of the film, failed to recreate the magic of Bichagadu.
Performance
Vijay Antony was seen in a dual role. The film turns out to be sci-fi with brain transplantation. He is okay in both Vijay and Satye roles, he might have worked more with his expressions. Music is one more disappointing aspect of the movie. Vijay himself is an editor too, and the film has missed necessary edits. VFX work is poor. The writing is okay and some scenes of the film were written sensibly. Kavya Thapar was seen as Hema. Even though her screen time was less, she has done her part well.
Many unknown faces in the film. Radha Ravi was seen as the chief minister and who is the lead antagonist in the film. He has done well. Yogi Babu is ok as a beggar. Dev Gill, Hareesh Peradi and John Vijay are the villains and are okay.
Positives :
Story
Brother-Sister concept
Negatives :
Melodrama
Too Many Twists
Climax
Final Word
Bichagadu 2 is nowhere matching to the first part and it will end up as a disappointment.
