Chat Lock: A New Feature Introduced In WhatsApp

Meta founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced a new feature on WhatsApp. Now the “Chat Lock” feature can give more privacy to users' Whatsapp chats. Users can now lock their WhatsApp chat with a password or through biometric authentication, like fingerprint and face ID, which create a separate folder.

While till now there is an option in IOS and Android to lock the complete WhatsApp through a phone password. Now in this new feature, a single chat can be locked, including the sender's name and the content of the message will be hidden. Even in notifications, it will hide the content of the chat automatically by keeping the conversation behind a folder. So that your messages will remain confidential. Chat Lock is also looking for options like custom passwords.

Whatsapp also has special features like encrypted chat backup, disappearing messages, screenshot blocking, hiding last seen, and removing blue ticks, the 'chat lock' is one more addition to your privacy settings.

You can lock the chat by going into a particular person's profile, where you see an option 'chat lock' just below the disappearing messages feature. You can click on it and lock the chat. Chats which are locked will be shown at the bottom of the WhatsApp home page. To enable this feature you need to have the latest version of WhatsApp.
